These fresh fruit smoothies are a fantastic alternative to soft drinks, cordials and alcohol during the summer months, but more importantly can be enjoyed all year round by the whole family. Discover the nutritional benefits of every exciting juice you make, whether it be energy or immune-boosting. Each juice is extremely healthy, however our recipe selection has been based on taste rather than specifically for detox purposes. Each recipe makes enough for two portions unless otherwise stated.

black banana

- 2 bananas
- 2 heaped tablespoons blackcurrants
- 10 tablespoons (150ml/2/3 cup) apple juice (or the juice from the blackcurrents, if they come from a can)
A wonderful contrast between the sweet bananas and the tangy blackcurrants. Use blackcurrants canned in natural juice if you don't have fresh ones- a good standby to keep in the cupboard in winter.

- 8 rehydrated dried apricots

Of course you can use any dried fruit, but apricots and prunes are particularly good and extremely rich in fibre and antioxidants. It's best to soak the fruit overnight before blending them.
